Located in the cultural and political hub of Shenzhen, Mocape is a proposal for a contemporary art museum. We questioned the role of the museum in a city. Primarily, a museum is design a blank, impartial support to host pieces of art. What if we could open new discourses ? Up raising new ways of interpretation by implementing meeting of contemporary art with the contemporary cityscape. Our radical approach is architecturally formed by an escalating ribbon-like path in the building, guiding the user through a sequence of framed views on the surroundings. Each views aims to initiate the dialogue between the city and the art object. The frames are part of the exhibition themselves, they are show-casing the evolving fragmentation of the urban decorum.
